The Barlow served as the catalyst for the Town’s Downtown Redevelopment Plan.  Rebar, with backing from the Town, assembled and acquired thirteen individually owned parcels, which encompassed the project site.

The public-private partnership deal structure included:

  • Town-backed TIF Bond contributed for project costs

  • Town vacated then dedicated ROWs and alleys to Rebar for the project

  • Town waived municipal impact and development-related fees

  • Town paid for all public infrastructure improvements for the Project, including stoplight signal, intersection improvements, utility relocations, and utility capacity modifications

TRANSFORMATIONAL MIXED-USE PROJECT BREAKS GROUND IN PLAINFIELD

Construction is officially underway on The Barlow in downtown Plainfield. Together with Town Officials and project partners, Rebar Development broke ground today on the $22 million mixed-use project at 204 E. Main Street. An integral part of the Town of Plainfield’s Downtown Redevelopment Plan, The Barlow brings housing, commercial space, infrastructure improvements, and new investment to the area.
