RIVER ROCK LOFTS IS OFFICIALLY UNDERWAY IN DOWNTOWN MARION
Marion, IN — City of Marion officials joined Rebar Development, The Ridge Group, and project partners to celebrate the groundbreaking of River Rock Lofts, a $10.8 million mixed-use development along downtown Marion’s riverfront district. The transformative project brings modern apartment housing, retail and restaurant space, and public infrastructure improvements along the River Walk.
"The River Rock Lofts serve as a cornerstone of our newly established Riverfront District. We are delighted to collaborate in introducing such a high-quality housing option to our community,” said Ronald Morrell, Mayor of Marion.
River Rock Lofts, located near the southeast corner of E. 1st Street and S. Adams Street, features 44 one- and two-bedroom apartment homes with private balconies overlooking the river, 3,300 square feet of commercial space along Adams Street, and a public plaza for community events along the riverfront. Designed to foster connectivity and activity, the project will tie seamlessly into Marion’s walkable, bikeable downtown, public parks, and the YMCA.
“We are excited to be a part of the City’s vision for the Riverfront District,” said Shelby Bowen, Founder and Partner of Rebar Development. “I think the READI grant award is confirmation from the State of Indiana that the Mayor, Council, and Redevelopment Commission are embarking on something special here in downtown.”
River Rock Lofts is expected to attract professionals, empty nesters, and residents seeking high-quality housing with amenities such as a work-from-home lounge, indoor bike storage, a pet grooming station, and an indoor/outdoor courtyard with a firepit and grilling station. The apartments also feature modern kitchens with stainless steel appliances and quartz countertops, spacious floor plans with large closets, and a full-size washer and dryer.
